How to Join Video clips into one with or without Transitions


If you want to learn how to join videos, then we can show you two different ways to do this. We will provide with step by step instructions on how to merge videos with transitions, as well as how to combine videos without transitions.

With Transitions


Movavi is compatible with most of the major formats, so the process is fairly simple and easy to follow. It’s an advanced video editing tool that offers even beginners an easy software program to use to great effect.

Step 1. Before you do anything, you need to download Movavi – there is a free trial, too, so you can try before you buy.

Step 2. Choose your view and Full Feature Mode.

Step 3. Choose the clips you want to merge and drag them to the timeline in the lower portion of the screen.

Step 4. Click on the video and drag the slider to the part of the video you want to split and hit the scissor button.

Step 5. You can crop as many videos as you want, and then simply drag each piece back to the timeline in the order you want them to run.

Step 6. Now that you have the clips you want all lined up, you can add in transitions to make it more stylish and smooth.

Step 7. Click on the Transitions button, located just above the timeline.

Step 8. Drag the transition you want between video clips, or simply apply to all.

Step 9. Even if they each video is in a different format- all you have to do now is export.

You can merge and split audio files in the same manner- these can overlay your videos. As you’ll see in the timeline there is a different row for video and audio.

You can also adjust the video, crop it, change the saturation and add visual effects. Movavi has made video editing a cinch.

Without Transitions

YouTube Video Editor is a free online tool that allows you to merge clips, trim them, customize them with special effects and even add music to them. To begin using it you just need to have a YouTube Account! Now, to join video clips without transitions, follow the step by step instructions below.

Step 1. Sign in to your YouTube Account and click on Video Manager.

Step 2. Find the videos that you want to join and choose the edit button on one of them.

Step 3. Click on enhancement, which is above the video itself.

Step 4. Once you have clicked on enhancements, you will see below it: combine multiple clips.

Step 5. Click on it.

Step 6. On the left, will be the video you original selected, and on the right will be all of the videos from your account.

Step 7. Drag the video that you want to merge and drop it below the original video. You will see a little box that says Drag video here. Drag the original and drop it, then drag the one you want to add to it and drop it directly beside it.

Step 8. Once you have merged your videos, simply hit publish.

Step 9. Once it’s published you’ll need to go into Video Manager and select the new video (It will say My Edited Video). Change the title of your video.

You will see, though, below the Drag Video here box that there is a spot for music, too, so if you want to add a soundtrack to the extended video you can do that, too. YouTube has an approved playlist.
